Pressure Regulating Valve Service in Gladstone, MO
High water pressure quietly destroys fixtures — we test it and replace failed PRVs.
Pressure regulating valves keep the water in your home at a safe level. Unregulated water can cause faucets and other plumbing fixtures to break down prematurely — and it does it quietly, over years, so the damage rarely gets traced back to its cause.
The warning signs are familiar to most homeowners without being recognized: a banging noise when a washing machine or dishwasher valve closes, faucet cartridges and toilet fill valves that fail again and again, a water heater relief valve that keeps weeping, and supply lines that burst for no apparent reason. Residential plumbing is generally happiest somewhere in the 50–70 psi range; well above that, everything with a rubber seal in it wears out early.
We test your static pressure with a gauge at a hose bib, read what the system is actually doing, and check whether an existing regulator is still holding or has drifted. A failed PRV gets replaced at the main, and where a house has no regulator at all, we can install one along with a thermal expansion tank so that the now-closed system has somewhere to put the pressure when your water heater fires.
